When I browse the Internet from an “Ubuntu PC” I find that the web pages look very different to browsing them using a “Windows PC” because of the different core fonts used such as Times New Roman, Arial, Courier, etc.

In order to “improve” this I installed the Microsoft TrueType core fonts package on my Ubuntu system:

  1. Go to System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager
  2. Quick search for ttf-mscorefonts-installer
  3. Mark for Installation and Apply to install
