Updated Windows XP install CD

The following steps describe how to update the original Microsoft Windows XP install CD with the latest drivers and Microsoft Service Pack 3 and other updates using nLite
Note: I am no longer checking the validity of this post. Please leave a comment if you discover it contains any mistakes and/or broken links. TIA, – Patrick.
Preparations:
- Download the latest hardware drivers.
- Download Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installer.
- Download the latest RyanVM’s Post-SP3 Update Pack and WGA Addon.
- Download Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP (optional)
- Download the latest Redxxi’s DirectX Enduser Runtime Addon (optional).
- Download the latest SVCpack version of jd976′s .NET Framework All-In-One Addon (optional).
- Download and install the latest version of Nuhi’s nLite.
- Copy the contents of the original Microsoft Windows XP CD to a folder on the hard drive, example C:\XPCD.
To integrate the latest SP, drivers and updates:
- Run nLite
- Select language and location of the XPCD folder.
- Skip presets unless wanted by clicking Next
- In Task Selection: select Integrate Service Pack
- Rerun nLite
- In Task Selection: select all except Integrate Service Pack.
- Now integrate the downloaded drivers, update and addon packs.
- Save ISO image of the rebuilt install CD.
- Burn ISO to CD disc.
Notes:
- Integrate Service Pack before integrating IE7, WMP11 and other optional Microsoft updates.
- It may be possible to combine Service Pack integration with the integration of drivers and updates withour rerunning nLite (not tested).
- For integration of the latest Windows Media Player, check Windows Mediaplayer 11 Slipstreamer.
