Uninstall unneeded Windows Features

windowsA standard Windows 7 installation comes already with a number of so-called Windows Features installed by default. To uninstall unneeded Windows features:




  1. Open the Control Panel
  2. Click Programs
  3. Under Programs and Features click Turn Windows features on or off
  4. Deselect the unneeded features. Default activated features that most people will not need are:
    • Games (or select only the games you like to play)
    • Media Features (or select only the features you want to use)
    • Print and Document Services (leave Scan and Fax service selected if you use Windows to send faxes)
    • Tablet PC Components
    • XPS Services
    • XPS Viewer
