This post describes how to eliminate the prompt for user and password after startup of Windows.

Follow these steps:

1. click Start and enter in the Start Search field: netplwiz
2. in the pop-up window, uncheck “Users must enter a username and password to use this computer” box and click Apply
3. in the new pop-up window, confirm the password to be used for autologon and click OK
4. click Start and enter in the Start Search field: Power Options (or Control Panel>System And Security>Power Options)
5. click Change Plan Settings next to the active power plan
6. click Change Advance Power Settings
7. change Require a password on wake-up to No
