Windows comes with a malicious software scanner already installed and activated. In case you don’t need it, here is how to disable Windows Defender:
- Type Windows Defender in the Start menu.
- Click Tools.
- Under Settings click Options
- Click Administrator
- Deselect “Use this program”.
- If necessary, turn off the warning messages about Spyware and related protection in the Action Center.
